Betty J. Harrison 91, died Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Newton Presbyterian Manor.  She was born on February 14, 1923 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Floyd and Laura (James) Price. On March 2, 1945 she married John Harrison at Los Angeles, CA and he survives of the home.  Betty was an Episcopalian and retired as a purchasing agent for Excel Industries in Hesston, Kansas. In addition to her time at Excel Betty enjoyed a long varied career including working as a Chief operator for both the Federal Government and US Air force. She enjoyed cross word puzzles and growing and sharing her flower garden techniques with her nieces.  She enjoyed the company of her family and close friends.

 

 

Betty is survived by her husband John of the home; sister and brother in law Pat and her husband Jim Lee of Hutchinson, Kansas; sister in law Dr. Ann Harrison of Topeka, Kansas; Brother in Law Jay and his wife Jerry Harrison of Salado, Texas;  nieces Katie Flora of Hutchinson, Kansas; Nancy Goss and her husband Dale of Plano, Texas; Stephanie Harrison of Frisco, Texas and Marilyn Gabura of Ontario, Canada; Nephew Jim Lee and his wife Jannifer of Houston, Texas; great nieces Morgan and Lindsey Goss of Plano, Texas and great nephews James Lee of Crestview, Florida and Sam Lee of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister’s Arlene Price, Joyce Smith and Dorothy “Dottie” Springbett. She is also preceded in death by one Nephew Jeff Harrison.

 

Graveside committal will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 1st 2014 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Hutchinson, Kansas with The Rt. Rev Michael Milliken of Grace Episcopal Church presiding.  There will be no public visitation.

 

Memorials are suggested to Newton Presbyterian Manor or Good Shepherd Hospice  in care of Petersen Funeral Home 215 North Main Newton, Kansas 67114
