Darlene L. Drinnen 91, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Peabody Care Center in Peabody, Kansas.  She was born January 25, 1924 to Charles and Loella (Shriver) Lillibridge. She married Homer Drinnen on July 13, 1941 in Manhattan, Kansas and he preceded her in death on July 2, 1998. Darlene was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds and wildlife around her home.  She was known as a person who enjoyed helping others and enjoyed her working life including time at Beech Aircraft, Colbalt Boats and as a housekeeper in nursing homes.

 

 

 

Darlene is survived by her son Lonny and his wife Gloria of Peabody, Kansas; sisters: Carlene and her husband Mark Duggins of Lonedale, Missouri and Candace and her husband Jim Towns of Redding, California. 2 grandchildren Todd (Michele) and Misty 6 great grandchildren Trey (Staci), Brock (Allysa), Richie (Kasey) Gunar and Austin 6 great great grandchildren Kasen, Julian, Jaylee, Taliah, Chevelle and Kinzlee. Darlene is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Sharon, sister Alta Shell and brothers Johnny and three infant brothers.

 

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2015 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Bill Eichelberger presiding. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Burial will be 3:00 p.m. Monday afternoon at the Frankfurt Cemetery in Frankfurt, Kansas

 

Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association or American Cancer Society          in care of Petersen Funeral Home
