Della M. Buller, 91, passed away on March 2, 2018 in Lancaster, California.

Della was born at home in Newton, Kansas on December 28, 1926 to Cliston and Katherine Black.  She worked for the US Postal Service and was proud to be the first female mail carrier in Newton.  She married Pete D. Buller on February 19, 1946.  They had 4 children and had been married for almost 46 years when Pete passed away in February 1992.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Ruth Hamm of Hillsboro and a brother, Fred Black of Wichita.

She is survived by her children Larry Buller and his wife Shirley of Newton, Gloria Rains and her husband Ken of Newton, Chris Buller and his wife Fran, Jane Rideout and her husband Neal of Rosamond, California.

She was a homemaker and stay-at-home Mom who loved her ‘job’ and took pride in raising her children.  She passed along her knowledge and love of cooking, especially of German food.

She loved and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren as well – her living room walls were always covered with pictures of them, through all stages of their lives.  Grandchildren are Gary McCloud Jr., Derek Buller, Kevin Buller, Kelly McCloud Johnson, Christopher Buller and Anthony Rideout.  She was also blessed by many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2018 at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, Kansas with Pastor Kay Schroeder presiding.  Friends may sign the register book from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Petersen Funeral Home.
