Ethel L. Winters, 71, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Kidron Bethel?Healthcare in North Newton.

She was born Feb. 13, 1942, in Marion to Fred and Anna E. (Beisel) Brunner. On June 5, 1960, she married LeRoy “Bud” Winters in Marion, and he survives of the home.

Ethel was a homemaker and retired bookkeeper at Chisholm Middle School in Newton. She was a 1960 graduate of Marion High School and a former member of the Circle Eight square dance club. Ethel was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and greatly looked forward to spending time with her loving family and many friends.

She is survived by her husband, LeRoy “Bud” Winters of Newton; daughters, Denise and Mike Arrellano of Newton and Sheryl Stephens of Wichita; sister, Evelyn Schmidt of Wichita; special “niece/sister,” Jeanette Daugherty of Salina; grandson, Jimmy; granddaughters, Taylor, Shanna and Chastity; and seven great-grandchildren.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; brother, LeRoy Brunner; and sister, Elnora Vajnar.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. John Goering presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Restlawn Gardens of Memory, rural Newton.
