Hazel H. Stiller 91, died Monday, November 17, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.  She was born July 17, 1923 in Newton, Kansas to Guy P. and Edna M. (Krueger) Scrivner. She was a 1941 graduate of Whitewater High School.  Hazel was preceded in death by two husbands Omri Manring and Homer Stiller.  She was a member of the Trinity Heights United Methodist Church in Newton, Kansas. She was a retired surgical tech and also worked in the canteen for Halstead Hospital. Hazel enjoyed her time at Halstead Hospital where she made many friends.  She was a member of the VFW auxiliary and enjoyed relaxing knitting especially making many dishrags her friends and family that she freely shared through the years.

 

Hazel is survived by one son Bernard and his wife Sandy Manring of Phoenix, AZ; step daughter Janet and her husband Richard Vogel of Clearwater, KS; 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren. 

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one brother, daughter Charlene Kay Manring, and sisters Margaret Mary and Betty Jean Scrivner. She is also preceded in death by her grandson Brandon Manring.

 

Funeral service will be 9 a.m., Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home with The Reverend Amy Lippoldt presiding. Open public visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery Newton, KS.

 

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Heights United Methodist Church or Asbury Park in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
