Ian P. Sullivan 13, died Thursday, November 13, 2014 at his Newton residence.  He was born February 21, 2001 in Wichita, Kansas to Michael and Traci (Wendt) Sullivan. Ian was an 8th grade student at Chisolm Middle School in Newton where he enjoyed social studies and made important connections with his teachers and friends.  Ian enjoyed current events and politics and enjoyed engaging his family and friends in lengthy discussions. He was a loving big brother to Connor and enjoyed spending time with his loving family and many friends.  Ian enjoyed traveling at vacation time and stopping along trips to see the sights.  Two of his favorite places to travel with his family were Washington DC., and to see the ocean.

 

Ian is survived by his mother Traci Sullivan of Newton; father Michael Sullivan of Wichita; brother Connor Sullivan of Newton; Maternal grandmother Pat Wendt of McPherson; Paternal grandmother Carol Soutar of Glen Burnie, MD; Paternal Grandfather Robert and his wife Kathy Sullivan of Pasadena, MD. Ian is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

 

He is preceded in death by his Maternal grandfather Terry Wendt and Great Aunt Vickie Burton.

 

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Columbus Avenue Church of Christ in Newton, KS with Pastor Buddy Aldridge presiding. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday evening with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home.  Private family interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton, Kansas.

 

Memorials are suggested to Ian Sullivan family fund in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
