Iris Shanks

Iris Carol Shanks was born to Carroll J Stone and Violet Stone in Clay, Kentucky on January 26, 1939. She moved to Kansas with her family in the 1950s. Iris expressed her kind and gentle nature through the nursing profession. Her passions also included music and dancing.

Iris passed away on Saturday, May 22nd, 2016. She was 77 years old. She is survived by her Younger brother, Larry Stone; Son, David K Farley; Daughters, Debbie K Francis, Delores A Patterson and DeeAnn Grosch. She was a loving grandmother to 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. There will be a graveside service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, 1422 E Harvey, Wellington, Kansas on Saturday May 28th, 2016 at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to The Roth Project – Alzheimer’s Association of Central and Western Kansas. The Roth Project: Music Memories provides healing music and personal iPods for those suffering through Alzheimers and dementia.
