Jeanette E. Orvis

Jeanette E. Orvis of Valley Center, KS went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with illness on August 23, 2018.  Jeanette was born September 5^th, 1936 in Kansas City, MO to Nelson and Edith Dick.  Jeanette was a retired secretary for the Valley Center School System – where she served for 30 years.  Jeanette was preceded in death by her first husband Ted Anderson in 1987, and her second husband Richard Orvis in 2003; two step sons:  Lowell Orvis and David Orvis, and one daughter-in-law Linda Orvis.  She is survived by her son David Anderson (Noreen), daughter Debbi Dozier, step sons Terry Orvis (Cindy) and Donald Orvis; brothers-in-law, Richard Anderson (Doris), David Hinman (Jeannette) and sister-in-law, Gail Drake (Mike); 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  Services will be held at Petersen Family Funeral Home on 215 N. Main Street in Newton, KS on Monday, August 27^th at 10:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service at 1:00, at Resthaven Cemetery – near the Arch. There will be a viewing service on Sunday the 26^th, from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., with family available from 3:00 – 5:00.  A special thank you to Asbury Park and Good Shepherd Hospice for their special care and compassion for Jeanette.
