Life Sketch for Kenneth Wayne Scott

Kenneth Wayne Scott was born February 20, 1927 to Ralph L. & Ninan Scott.  He was the fourth of five boys and grew up on the family farm near Garfield, Kansas.  He attended grade school at Couchman District 42 County School.  His freshman and sophomore years in high school were in Rozel, Kansas and junior and senior years at Larned High School graduating in 1945.

He attended Kansas State University.  There he met his first wife Barbara.  They adopted a son Greg in 1967.  He married Addie Guhr in 1979.  Their union lasted 38 years.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, working with wood, golfing, traveling and anything else that might look appealing at the time.  He chose sales as his vocation and enjoyed selling semi-trailers for many years.  He interrupted that by selling airplanes for 2 years until he was fired by his good friend and boss for taking too many risks in the air.

He is survived by his wife: Addie; son: Greg of Wichita; step-son: Rick (Carla) Guhr of Sanger, Texas; 2 grandchildren: Chase Guhr (Kristin) and Chanie Garriot (Jared) both of Texas; 2 step-grandchildren:  Jessica Johnson (Brian) and Beau Kobel of Texas; and 5 great grandchildren, 16 nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his four brothers.
