Lola M. Anderson, 97, died February 4, 2013 at the Kansas Christian Home. She was born August 14, 1915 to Marshall and Nettie (Stapp) Price in Hazelton, Kansas.
Her mother died of the flu epidemic in 1918. Lola and her sister, Ruth were raised in foster care in Nash, Oklahoma. Upon moving to Newton in her late teens she met her husband Eldo Anderson, and they celebrated 77 years of marriage until his death in 2010.
Six children were born to their union: Arlen (Paula) Anderson, Loren Anderson who died in 1993, Joyce and (Arnold) McCloud, Jolene Anderson all of Newton, Kansas. LeAnna (Timothy) Reimer of Hesston, Kansas, Steve (Shelly) Anderson of Independence, Missouri. She has 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren with three more on the way. Preceding her in death were Loren Anderson, son; Amy Anderson, granddaughter; Ruth Knee, sister; and Wiley Price, brother.
She was a member of the Grace Community Church and a service of celebration will be held at the church on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Dave Reimer and Steve Friesen presiding. Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home.
