Nancy was born August 27th 1947 second child of 6 born to Norman Bernard Stahlheber & Betty Lorraine (Safe)
Stahlheber in Newton, Ks.

Nancy is survived by her husband Floyd Brooks of the home

Daughters Diane (Troy) Senn , Loretta(Gary) Sholders and Virginia Brooks all of Newton

9 grandchildren – Elizabeth(Colt)Pfautz, Brittany Senn, Mckenize Senn(Clayton Spencer), Austin
Schroeder (Kaylee Martinez), Kirsten Sholders, Christopher(Elizabeth) Sholders, Lynsey (Wes)Oldenettel
Kelby Palmer, and Clay Palmer

9 great grandchildren -Paxton, Bristol, Kaiden and Rylan Pfautz, Oliver & Kinsley Sholders, Gavin
Sholders, Karsyn & Paetyn Schroeder

Sisters- Karen (Allan)Wedel, Betty(Eldon)Schmidt of Newton

Brothers -Kent (Leann) Stahlheber, Alan (Debi) Stahlheber all of Wichita and David Stahlheber of
Hesston and many and nieces and nephews

Nancy is a Lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church She was baptized October 12, 1947 and was
confirmed May
21, 1961

Nancy attended Washington Elementary, Chisholm Middle School and graduated from Newton High in
1965

She worked at the A&W, She met Floyd Brooks of Peabody, Ks.

They were married on November 7th 1965 -They were married for 54 years

Floyd and Nancy lived in EL Paso, Tx, San Bernardino, California & Henrietta, Ok. Before moving back to
Newton, Kansas.

Nancy worked at the Halstead Hospital as a Nurse Aide for 5 years, ran her own daycare for 8 years,

 was a manager at Taco Tico for 14 years, and worked at Midland National Bank for 21 years as a Teller
than moved up to Bookkeeping till retirement in
2013

Nancy was very involved with the Chisholm Trail Festival Board from 1985 -1989 as well as,
PTO, Girl Scouts, Toot N’ Newton, Volleyball.

Trips to Cheyenne Wyoming, Branson Missouri, Nebraska, Mount Rush More South Dakota, Disneyland
several time last one with grandsons

Loved to travel and together with friends and family, she also loved her home with view of the pond as
well the trailer at Marion Lake.

Her other interests were reading, crossword puzzles, and collected Mary Moo’s and Coke Cola and
Nutcrackers

She is preceded in death by her parents Norman and Betty Stahlheber and in-laws Benny and Rosetta
Brooks

Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of Petersen Funeral Home.

 

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 22, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church in Newton, Kansas with The Reverend Clark Davis officiant.  Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery Newton, KS
