Nicholas W. “Nick” Moon

Nicholas W. Moon 30, died Sunday, December 10, 2017 at his home in Newton.  He was born May 8, 1987 in Newton, Kansas to Jimmie P. Jr. and Brenda A. (McCune) Moon.  On October 17, 2007 he married Dominque Owens at Newton, Kansas and she survives of the home.

Nick was formerly employed at Excel Industries in Hesston, Kansas.  He left Excel under medical leave.  He had a passion for guns and weapons. He enjoyed collecting guns and range shooting.   Nick took his love of guns to the next level by reloading his own shells.  Family was important and he could often be found doing activities and adventures with his son Anakin.  He greatly looked forward to spending time with his loving family and many friends. Another love of Nick’s was his three special dogs.  The family has many photos Nick lounging and relaxing with his beloved dogs, Trigger, Kaybee and Rayne

He is survived by his wife Dominque of the home; son Anakin also of the home; parents Jimmie Moon Jr and Brenda Moon; brothers: Bryan Moon of Newton, Kansas and Jimmie Moon III of Jeffersonville, IN and one sister Anita Moon of Newton.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather Jimmie Moon Sr.

A service of celebration and remembrance will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Petersen Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmie Moon III presiding.  Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Memorials may be made to the Nick Moon Family Fund to help offset expenses in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
