Phillip G. Morford 55, died Sunday May 13, 2018 at his Wichita residence.  He was born December 18, 1962 in Newton, Kansas to Galen and Marie (Bachman) Morford.  On December 26, 1987 he married Stephanie Jaso at St. Mary Church in Newton and she survives.

 

Phillip was a radiation health technician for the U.S. Government prior to his retirement.

 

He attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Newton and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

 

Phillip enjoyed water sports including scuba diving, swimming, water skiing and tubing. He earned is scuba certification at Guantanamo Bay Cuba while employed with the U.S. Government. He enjoyed Star Trek and Science Fiction and relaxed with a diet coke and crossword puzzle.  His family was important to him and he looked forward to spending time with his loving family and many friends and was looking forward to meeting his newest grandbaby in a few months.

 

He is survived by his wife Stephanie of the home; daughter Mekila McIver and husband Issac Mclver of Canton, KS; brother Steve Morford of Wichita, KS; sister Cheryl McMillan of Newton, Kansas and one grandson.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother in law Steve Jaso.

 

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Newton, KS with The Reverend Nicholas Voelker celebrant.  Recitation of the Holy Rosary with Knights of Columbus will be 6:00 p.m. Monday May 21, 2018 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel. The family will greet friends before and after the Rosary until 8:30 p.m.  Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery Newton, Kansas. 

 

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society in care of Petersen Funeral Home
