Robert L. “Bob” Seiler 91, passed away on Sunday February 3, 2013 at the Halstead Health and Rehab center in Halstead, Kansas. He was born on September 14, 1921 in Halstead, Kansas to Emil and Lena (Dirks) Seiler. On May 14, 1944 he married Evelyn Unruh in McPherson County, Kansas and she preceded him in death on October 30, 2002.
Bob was an auto mechanic and machinist. He owned and operated Halstead Auto Parts on Halstead’s main street for over 50 years. He was a recipient of Halstead’s Good Neighbor and Lifetime Achievement Awards. Bob worked as a skilled machinist for 18 years at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas.
He is survived by two daughters Jeanette DesLauriers of Tucson, Arizona and Sheryl Swanson and her husband Mike of Carmel, Indiana. He also is survived by two grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother Walter Seiler and his wife Priscilla and one sister Caroline Unruh and her husband Jake.
Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with presiding ministers Kenneth Smith and Dean Becker officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at Petersen Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Halstead City Cemetery.
