Thurman Edward (T.E.) Neeley,88, of Newton died Saturday September 26, 2015 at Asbury Park, Newton.

He was born on April 13, 1927 in Cordell OK, the son of Raymond and Myrtie (Payne) Neeley. On November 17, 1945 he married Billye Melton in Corsicana, Texas. She preceded him in death in 2007.

T.E. was a manager for the Cal-Gas propane company for many years. He and his wife Billye were on multiple winning bowling teams and loved to dance and play cards. He had a green thumb like no other and loved to manage his flowers and garden. In his later years you could always find him in the garage making clocks. At one point a couple years ago the family counted about 200 plus clocks that he had either made or purchased. T.E. was a huge fan of the Denver Broncos. He was a member of the Methodist church in Ft. Morgan, Colorado.

Survivors include daughter, Rowena Schroeder, son, Mark Neeley, three grandchildren, Michele (Curtis) Nightingale, Pratt, Jason (Joni) Schroeder, Halstead and Jody (David) Roberts, Ft. Collins, CO. He is also survived by six great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

T.E. was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son-in-law, Richard Schroeder.

Visitation will be Friday, October 2, from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. with family present from 6:30-8:00 at Petersen’s Funeral Home, 215 N. Main, Newton.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 3, at 10 a.m. at Petersen’s Funeral Home with Chaplain Jason Reynolds officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Texas.
