Terry V. Connally 84, died Saturday, November 3, 2018 at his Wichita residence.  He was born August 13, 1934 in LaJunta, Colorado to Lucian and Stella Mae (Matthews) Connally.

 

On June 3, 1960 he married Charlene Arndt in Albuquerque, New Mexico and she survives of the home.

 

Terry was a retired pastor who was ordained into the Church of the Nazarene on September 24, 1959.  As a pastor Terry had a great love of people and sharing the Gospel and Love of Jesus Christ.  His many ministries included visiting people in jail and prison and many home visits through the years.  He was a teacher at the former Nazarene Indian School in New Mexico where he was granted Honorary Alumnus in 1997. 

 

Terry and Charlene opened their home to many children as foster parents for 18 years.  He was awarded KPAN Father of the year award in Hereford, Texas in 1986, Honor of Excellence in Education in Olton, Texas and Outstanding service in caring for children in 1986.

 

He served on 5 mission trips through the years and enjoyed woodworking and building furniture.  He was especially known for his church furnishing he has made.

 

Terry had a great love for his family and looked forward to spending time with his loving family and many friends.

 

He is survived by his wife Charlene of the home; sons: Keith and his wife Diane Connally and Marc Andrew Connally and his wife Audra; daughters: Tammy and her husband Tim Ens and Ladonna and her husband Eldon Meyers; three sisters Sue Smith, Nadine Hamilton and Stella Connally.  He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter and looking forward to a second great grandchild soon.

 

Terry is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Raymond, Dean, Freddie and Donald Connally.

 

A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday November 6, 2018 at First Church of the Mennonite Brethren in 8000 West 21st N in Wichita, Kansas with Pastor Daryl Baltzer presiding.  Private family interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery Newton, Kansas

 

Memorial donation is suggested to the Sun Valley Indian School Box 4013 Sun Valley, AZ 86206 or in care of Petersen Funeral Home Newton, Kansas.
