Valentin Templado Tandoc Jr. M.D. was born under the bluest sky in Moal Boal Cebu, Philippines. He traveled to this country to learn the fine art of healing and to find his true love, Bonnie. They lived together in happiness and made three exceptional children who love them more than there are words to describe. Val was a practicing surgeon of unequaled skill until the joyful cessation of his breath and being. He saved lives and relieved pain with his skills and compassion, humor and bed-side manner. Val loved animals, International Ballroom dancing, the Dixie Chicks and his family more than anything else. Memorials may be made to Hope In The Valley Equine Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc. or Newton Mid-Kansas Symphony Orchestra in care of Petersen Funeral Home 215 N. Main St., Newton, KS 67114.

Val will be truly missed. Delivered my 2 girls Misti and Stormi Herbison. What a kind, special doctor. We are all sad.
Valentin and Bonnie are such an inspiration to our family. From the moment they came to town. I will always be thankful that they were involved in our lives.

Dr.Val was such a sweet and gentle soul. He was a hard act to follow. He and Dr Bonnie were the true picture of sweet forever love !
Val and Bonnie have been beloved members of our family from the day Val first came to the Bethel Clinic. Val’s surgical and diagnostic skills were extraordinary. His delight in life and unfailing sense of humor will always be remembered.

I have such fond and crazy memories of Dr Tandoc. Working with him in surgery was always fun as his humor kept is in stitches and he was very skillful at his job. He will be missed.
I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Tandoc for several years in NMC. I was astonished to find out he was a premier ballroom dancer. Once I saw his video, I knew why he and Bonnie did so well! He will be missed.

Bonnie, my thoughts are with you and your family at this time. I Wil miss Val’s humor. He has helped me so much. I got to know him after myself and my daughter had number of health problems. He was so good with my daughter. She had asked him where he was from. He looked at her and told her the ” he had come all the way from the Philippines just to see her”. She smiles every time she tells that story. Both Val and Bonnie have touched this community I’m more ways than they will ever know. We have lost a great Dr. and person with the loss of Val.
