Donald Duane Spencer

Donald Duane Spencer, 76, of Wichita was born Nov. 13, 1937, in Newton, to Donald B. and Gladys Buller Spencer. He passed away Jan. 20, 2014, at his Wichita home.He married Marianne K. Waltner on Sept. 26, 1964, at First Presbyterian Church in Newton. They were married 49 years. He enlisted in the military in 1955. While serving in the military, he played trumpet in the Army band. He loved the Lord, gave willingly, and was a friend to many. He was a caring husband and father.Donald was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, infant Gary Spencer, Larry Spencer and Richard Spencer.Survivors include his wife, Marianne of the home; son, Troy and his wife, Tiffany; and two granddaughters, Maclaine and Madison Spencer, all of Wichita.The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Ray Pew presiding. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
