Albert M Sherry

Albert M. Sherry 88, died, Monday, July 14, 2014 at in Wichita.  He was born September 5, 1925 in Northwest, Arkansas to John and Alba (Webb) Sherry.  On March 19, 1957 he married Mary Jane Harwick in El Dorado, Kansas and she preceded him in death on March 10, 1994.  Albert retired from the Fleming Warehouse in Wichita after 30 years and he farmed in Northeast Harvey County.  He greatly enjoyed his time on the farm and caring for his animals especially his horse Sonny. His family was very important to him and he looked forward to spending time with them.  He had many friends with whom he enjoyed  attending livestock sales and meetings and joining for dinner.

He is survived by his daughters: Brenda and Richard Dickson of Newton, KS; Julie and Les Tucker of Augusta, KS; sons: Larry and Pat Sherry of Wichita, KS and Danny Sherry of Furley, KS. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3  great grandchildren.

Albert is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one son Harry Lowe.  He is also preceded in death by his 2 brothers Richard and Burl Sherry and 2 sisters Estelle Stamps and Elizabeth Coble.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be   2:00 p.m. Thursday July 17, 2014 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery Newton.

Memorials are suggested to the KSU center for basic cancer research in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
