Alita Grace Rivera, 57, passed away September 12, 2021 at her home in Newton. She was born in Wichita, Kansas on July 6, 1964 to Tony and Colleen (Willis) Rivera. Alita graduated from Newton High School. She married Alex Sanchez, and to this union was born two sons, Mitrio Sanchez of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, and Dan Sanchez of Melvern, Kansas. She later married Roger Zumbrun, and to this union was born a son, Jacob Zumbrun of Denver, Colorado. Alita was preceded in death by her parents Tony and Colleen, and her life partner Alex Sanchez. She is survived by her sons Mitrio, Dan and Jacob. Three granddaughters- Azaria, Sunza, Sydnie, Three grandsons, – Isaiah, Caesar, and Aztec. Sisters- Bobbie Batterman, Juana Henry, Diana Ediger, Judi Crump. Brothers – Mike Rivera, Tony Rivera Jr., Joe Rivera.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, Sept 17, 2021 at 3:00 pm. At Volunteer Hall at Harvey County East Lake.
Memorial donations may be made to Petersen Funeral Home to help cover expenses for the family.

Alita was a friend who we didn’t see each other a lot but when we did we always had good talks. I enjoyed spending time with her at the lake and fishing and cooking. She will be missed by many.
