Angela D. (Martinez) Garcia 89, died January 18, 2022 at Newton, Kansas.  She was born October 23, 1932 in Marion, Kansas to Juan and Josefina (Morales) Martinez. On January 22, 1949 she married George A. Garcia and he preceded her in death on September 24, 1989. She was raised and attended school in Marion County.

Angela attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  She enjoyed sewing and embroidery and sharing her creations with family and friends.  Her greatest joy was her family and she loved to spend time with her children and extended family.  Angela always had love in her heart and a place at the table for who ever needed a home cooked meal.

She is survived by her sons: Benito and George Garcia, Daniel (Stacie) Garcia and Greg (Tami) Garcia; her daughters Josephine and Angelina Garcia and Mary (Don) Bean; one brother Lupe Martinez and 2 sister Dorothy Castillo and Betty Martinez. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren and extended family who all loved her very much.

Angela is preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Manuel D. Garcia and daughter Clara Garcia Marin.

Mass of the Resurrection will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with The Reverend Jorge Lopez Celebrant.  A Recitation of the Rosary will be prior to Mass at 10:00 a.m.  Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Florence, Kansas.
