Anita Rosaline Berends, 86, died April 6 at Asbury Park in Newton, Ks. She was born on June 5, 1926, to Lester Royal Bullock and Sarah Bryant Bullock.  They preceded her in death.  She married Marvin Berends on August of 1947.  They were married for 66 years.  He survives.  They had two daughters, Kay Berends of Walton, Ks., and Alice L Barns of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  They also have 2 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Ralph (Suzie) Bullock of Lawrence, Ks.  Anita and Marvin lived in Newton before moving to Walton in 1993.  Anita was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.  She enjoyed doing Word Find Books and embroidery.  Anita was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Oran J Bullock and Gerald Bullock.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel and burial will be following the service in Walton, Kansas Cemetery.  Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. Tuesday evening at Petersen.  Memorials can be given to Caring Hands
