Armando “Pete” Mosqueda 82, died Thursday, May 12, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. He was born February 23, 1940 in Newton, Kansas to Julio and Amelia (Rincon) Mosqueda. On August 19, 1960 he married Mary Juarez in Newton and she survives of the home.

Armando was retired from the former Santa Fe Railroad now BNSF where he worked as a truck driver. He was a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton.

He enjoyed relaxing on the porch, watching westerns and the food network on TV. He enjoyed Mexican music and in his younger often went out dancing.  Pete also enjoyed football especially his beloved Kansas City Chiefs.  He could also often be found at his favorite casino 7 Clans Casino and Hotel in Newkirk, Oklahoma. His greatest joy was being a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many.

Pete is survived by his wife Mary of the home; son JR Mosqueda; daughters Gloria Embry, Monica Brungardt and Crystal Shook; sisters: Rebecca Garza, Linda Galle, Olivia Goodall, Susan Mosqueda and Isidra Boroughs. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parent’s, brothers Pablo, Mike, Julio and Hector Mosqueda; sisters Mary Pacheco and Helen Corona

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Petersen Funeral Home with Pastor Chip Bungard presiding. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with a recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 6:00 p.m., at Petersen Funeral Home the family will greet friends following the Rosary. Private family interment will be held.

Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association and left with Petersen Funeral Home.
