Becky Burnett

Rebecca “Becky” Jo Burnett, age 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a long-time resident of Newton, KS before moving to Halstead several weeks ago.

Becky was born in Dodge City Kansas on November 9, 1950 as the one of thirteen children to parents Eula Mae (Brown) and Enyard Minard Speer. In 1970 she met Larry Keith, and the couple had two children, a daughter and a son. They later divorced and he preceded her in death in November of 2007. Becky remarried to Kenneth Burnett in February of 1985 and they remained married until his death in September of 1998.

Becky was a feisty spirit who valued her relationships with family and friends. She was a caring and free-spoken friend to many, and a loving mother, grandmother, and sister to her family. She enjoyed spending much of her time sharing in the lives of those she loved.

Becky is preceded in death by brothers Larry, Terry, Ron, and Darrell Speer, sisters Corkey Wilson and Leota Moss, and parents Eula Mae (Brown) and Enyard Minard Speer.

Becky is lovingly remembered by her surviving family; children, Michelle Burch and Leroy Keith, granddaughters Aubrey Keith, Heather Blackburn, and Tiffany Blackburn, grandson Davin Keith, brothers Cleo and Don Speer, and sisters Danna Rigg, Linda Wilks, Vicky Hall, and Vivian Wise.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, April 8^th at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton, Kansas.
