Bonnie Ziesenis

Bonnie L. Pickrell Ziesenis was born March 8, 1924 to Todd and Lulu Pickrell in El Dorado, Kansas, and passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on August 8, 2024. She had one brother Billy Dean who predeceased her in death.

She grew up and attended schools in El Dorado and graduated from El Dorado High School in May, 1942.

World War 2 was on at that time so she went to work for Boeing, left for a while and went back to work there in 1958. She met Larry Ziesenis at Boeing and they were married on November 14, 1965. From that marriage she had two step children, Janett Seacat of Kingman, Kansas and Randy Ziesenis of Stroud, Oklahoma. In 1968 she went to work for Employers Mutual Insurance as a property underwriter and was there until 1988 when she retired. She and Larry owned B&L Mowing Service for several years until his death in 1991.

Bonnie continued to live on their rural property until she could no longer care for it. She moved into Valley Center where she loved and enjoyed first and foremost her Valley Center Christian Church and the family she had there. She enjoyed the activates of the Valley Center Senior Center and the Park City Senior Center playing cards (pitch) and playing bingo. She was great story teller and had a funny story or thought provoking story to tell at the Park City Senior Center each month at their luncheon.

Thank you to Bob and Marilyn Akers for taking care of Bonnie's dog Jazzy and making sure bonnie got to church o Sunday after her move to Newton, to Delcie Malcom for her calls and weekly cards of love, hope, and encouragement and to Jerry Ann Haug for her many years of friendship.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Valley Center Christian Church in Valley Center, Kansas. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Valley Center Christian Church in Valley Center, Kansas, with a graveside service at 12:00 p.m. in Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita, Kansas.
