Brendan K. Hurst

d. June 15, 2017

Brendan K. Hurst 16, died Thursday, June 15, 2017 at his Newton home.  He was born September 13, 2000 in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Brendan would have been entering his junior year at Newton High School.  He enjoyed computers and electronics and could often be found playing video games or reading.  He was a movie fan and especially enjoyed science fiction and fantasy movies.  Playing pool, card games and fishing were other past times Brendan enjoyed.  He was a typical teenager in many ways, often asking when dinner was and what was for dinner. As he grew up he developed his own unique sense of humor, a sharp wit and enjoyed getting a laugh out of his family and friends.  Brendan liked to spend time connecting with his close friends, but was at his happiest when he was with his family and especially looked forward to spending time with his grandparents.  He will be greatly missed for those special traits and love he brought to all who knew him.

He is survived by his mother Jennifer Schwab and her husband Rob of Newton, Kansas; Step brother Dalton Schwab and step sister Halle Schwab; brother Ethan Hurst; maternal grandparents Kenneth and Charlene Meyer of St. Joseph, Missouri; Paternal grandfather George Schwab of Turon, Kansas; Paternal grandmother Carolyn and Rick Ardolino of Hutchinson, Kansas.  He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and many cousins.
