Carmaleta Ann “Russell” Slater, age 79 of Wichita, KS. Passed Away at Westview  NH Derby, KS. on August 31, 2015.

Born in Poughkeepsie, AR. She was the Daughter of Lige and Amy Luella “Jones” Russell. She was a Wife, Homemaker, Seamstress, and Member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Wichita, KS.

Survivors include 3 Children, Son Lige A. Slater his wife Peggy of Kingman KS. Daughter Rebecca M. Slater of Wichita KS. Son Jim N. Slater his wife Deva of Hutchinson KS. 2 Sister’s Otossa Scott of Chicago, IL. And Olena Bailey and her husband Dale of Ashflat AR.

5 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild, Sister-in-laws Deloris Russell, Mildred Russell, & Candy Brewer and Several Nieces and Nephews.

Preseded in Death by her Parents, her Husband George A. Slater, Bro. George F. Russell, Bro. Lige Dewan Russell, and Bro. James N. Russell.

Visitation will be held at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, Kansas from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with Funeral Service following at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday September 2, 2015. Burial will be in the Spotts Cemetery Poughkeepsie, Arkansas at 10:00 a.m., Friday September 4, 2015.
