Carol Fiedler

Carol was born on August 27th, 1936 in Newton, Kansas to Phillip and Rachel (Schmidt) Regier. On October 23, 1955 she married Durwood D. Fiedler at the Missionary Church in Elbing.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Brenda Baker, son Brandon (Carmen) Fiedler, of Newton, daughter-in-law Julie Fiedler, of Wichita, grandchildren, Kris Totten (Crystal), Katie (George) Casanova, Kyle Fiedler, Amanda (Micah) McEuin, and Jake Fiedler, great grandchildren Jordynn Totten, Colby Casanova, siblings Don (Peggy) Regier, John (Karen) Regier, Jerry (Sharon) Regier, stepsister Mary Ann Ranschau; and many nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, parents, stepmother Elizabeth “Grammy” Regier, son Brian Fiedler, and stepbrother Jim Paulson.

Carol grew up in rural Elbing and graduated from Peabody High School in 1954. She gave her life to the Lord as a young woman and was baptized at the Missionary Baptist Church in Elbing, later she became a member of Bible Baptist Church in Newton. At the time of her death, she was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Newton. She had a true servant heart, along with her husband they opened their home and fostered 9 children, joined Campers on Mission and traveled the United States doing Home Mission work, and she lead many Sunday school classes and Bible school groups.

Carol was a retired medical transcriptionist for Newton Medical Center, where she worked for 27 years. She loved camping, gardening, renovating homes with her husband, Durwood, and spending time with her loving family and many friends.

A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Newton with Pastor Michael Scott presiding.  A private family interment will be in the First Missionary Cemetery, Rural Elbing.  Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday September 9, 2021 at Petersen Funeral Home.
