Carole A Bean

Carole Aileen Berger Bean died on December 7, 2022. She was born March 5, 1938, at Halstead Hospital, Halstead, Ks, to Harold “Rolly” Berger and Marion Jordan Berger. She was raised on a farm in Halstead Community and attended a one-room school, Mayflower, District 34, through seventh grade, and then went to Halstead grade school and graduated from Halstead High school in 1955. Carole then moved to Hutchinson and graduated with honors from Salt City, Business College. After that, she worked at Legg Co.

She married Paul Bean in 1957; they were later divorced. To this union was born six children, 5 boys and a daughter, Susan, who died in infancy. After all the sons were in school, she returned to work, first working for Beck Mfg. in Halstead, Ks and then for Cox home office for 20 years, when heath issues caused her retirement.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Mary K) Bean, of rural Sedgwick, KS; David (Lori) of Newton, KS; Matthew (Tammy) of North Augusta, SC; Jason of rural Halstead; and Charles (Jennifer) of rural Halstead. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Larry Berger and infant daughter Susan Bean

A memorial service will be held at Halstead Mennonite Church at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2022 with Pastor Tony D’Olio presiding. Inurnment will be in the Halstead City Cemetery

Memorials may be made to the “Wounded Warriors Project” and left with Petersen Funeral Home
