Celesta Gaede

August 26, 2015

Celesta Gaede, 70, of Newton died on August 26, 2015.  She was born to Estelle and LD Bucher in Greeley, Colorado on March 19, 1945.  Celesta and Gene Gaede married on July 29, 1960 in Newton, Kansas. She and Gene had two children, Robert and Becky.  The family took many trips to Colorado, several of which were to Estes Park, one of Celesta’s favorite places.  The Grand Canyon was also a place she loved to visit.  Celesta and Gene enjoyed bowling, and Celesta served as the Secretary of the Women’s Bowling Association.  She also served as the President of the Eagles Sorority.  She loved collecting things, specifically shoes, and “miniatures”, especially miniature shoes, anything Christmas, and dolls. She loved her family, and spending time with them. She is preceded in death by her parents and Sister Sadie Nelson. She is survived by her husband, Gene Gaede; son, Robert Gaede; daughter, Becky Gaede; Granddaughters, Ashley and Katie Wiens; brother, Tom Bucher; and sisters, Zella Thomas and LDeena Jones. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday August 31, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, in Newton, Kansas.  Memorial suggestions are for the Salvation Army, Caring Hands Humane Society, and Harry Hynes Hospice.
