Charles Arthur Dudley Jr. was our beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. He passed away peacefully at the age of 74 on October 31, 2022.
He was born in Pittsburgh, Kansas on August 26th, 1948 to parents Charles A. Sr. and Dorothy Dudley. He was raised in Sedgwick, Kansas along side his 3 sisters, Donna Kaye, Debbie, and Delinda.
In 1969, Charles met his wife Donna working together at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He received his B.A. from Wichita State University shortly thereafter. His two children, Jeni and Jacob, were born at Wesley Medical Center.
Charles went on to achieve his MBA from the University of Dayton, Ohio. He had a successful 40 year career in healthcare retiring as the Administrative Director of the Children’s Hospital laboratory in Columbus, Ohio.
Charles created everlasting memories sailing and bowling with his wife, Donna. He once got a hole in one of the golf course! He had a passion for aviation and aircraft and, in 1973, was proud to get his private pilot’s license flying Cessna airplanes. When computers first emerged, Charles was first on the scene ordering and assembling a Sinclair computer through mail order. He shared a love for outer space watching Star Trek with his daughter, Jeni. He even attempted to paint like Bob Ross and paved the way for his son, Jacob, to become a talented artist. To his friends, he was known as a consummate gentleman.
Charles is preceded in death by Charles A. Sr. and Dorothy Dudley.
He is survived by his wife Donna Dudley, daughter Jeni Dudley, son Jacob Dudley, sisters Donna Kaye Motl, Debbie Hanson(Stuart), and Delinda Freeman(Mike).
Charles will rest peacefully in Sedgwick, Kansas, the land he loved as a child.
A visitation will be from 5-9pm, Wednesday, November 9th, 2022, at Petersen Funeral Home. A private internment is at Hillside Cemetery in Sedgwick with a Celebration of Life service at Sedgwick Senior Center from 1-3pm on Thursday, November 10th, 2022.

Was a pleasure getting to know Charles here in Saint James Plantation Southport NC. He was a true gentleman. RIP Charles.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
We were sadden to hear of Charlie’s passing and I know this is truly a most difficult time for Donna and the family. Linda and I were fortunate to have known both Charlie and Donna while in St.James, North Carolina. Charlie was one of the kindest individuals you could ever meet. We met at bowling on Sunday nights and participated with them in a couple evening leagues. Our heartfelt feelings and prayers go out to the Donna and family.
Our condolences to the family on the loss of your loved one. Dave and Terrie Manning

Although we only knew Charles briefly he was a true gentleman. May he rest in peace. Our prayers are with you Donna and your family.
Heartfelt sympathies to all of the Dudley family. We will always have fond memories of our friendship with Charlie & Donna while they resided in St. James. Their positive spirit, energy & enthusiasm for bowling, golfing, pumpkin decorating, politics were contagious. Their warm genuine kind hearts are to be remembered & replicated by many. We will always remember celebrating “Friendsgiving” in Myrtle Beach and all of the other fun times shared among friends. May God bless and keep your family safe and hold you close in his arms during this difficult time of loss. Charles is now your watchful angel until we all meet again. Sending prayers and a distant long lingering digital hug to comfort you. With much Sympathy, Rosey & Harry
My sincere condolences to you, Donna, and your family. I have fond memories of you two as great hosts for our “Lagoony” parites. I lost my wife, Carol, in July and know well the empty spot you feel in your heart. However, I know from experience that the love of family and friends will fill that spot until you meet again.
So deeply saddened, with Charlies passing. I had the pleasure of bowling against him in the St James Men’s bowling league. He was a true gentleman, always caring and thoughtful. I can remember our funny times getting KODI going on his TV. Being so close I did not know he was a pilot or painted. I too painted with Bob Ross! wished I had known. Rest-in-peace my friend
We are so sad about Charles’s passing. We got to know he and Donna and always enjoyed their company. Charles loved to cook . He and Donna were in our “Cooking with Friends” group and he always presented his recipe in wonderful detail.
We will both miss him .
Condolences to Donna and his family.
Rest in peace.
Charlie was my best friend in high school. The first and last time I saw him since high school, was in 2016 @ our class reunion. Would like to have had more time with him. He will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family.
Our love and prayers go out to all of Charles’s family and friends. As neighbors of his parents in Sedgwick, we shared many memories, stories and happenings of his life, all reflecting a life lived well and a blessing to his family and others.
Love and Peace be with you.
Bob and Earlene Reed
Our condolences go out to the family. 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️
Dear Donna and Family,
My heart goes out to you for the loss of one of the nicest individuals I’ve ever know. I remember one day whispering to Donna at bowling “Is Charles really as nice as he seems?” He was honest, intelligent and caring. Rest assured he has one of the best seats in heaven…
