Newton – Charles “Chuck” W. Riley, 87 entered eternal life with His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, passing peacefully at the Kansas Christian Home in Newton on February 16, 2016.

 

Chuck was born on June 27, 1928 in Wichita KS to Earl and Hazel Riley. Chuck was a 1946 graduate of Newton High School. Chuck worked with sheet metal as a “Tinner”, for Jantz & Woolery Plumbing, as a Lead Man for Guerdon Industries, and later was a self-employed home repairman.

 

Chuck married Neva Rodgers on January 16, 1950. Together Chuck and Neva raised three sons and one daughter. He was a member of the Newton Church of the Brethren for over 60 years where he served many years as a Sunday School teacher and Board member.

 

Chuck was preceded in death by his Parents, brother Eugene Richardson, sister Lucille Gambill, and son Charlie. He is survived by his loving wife Neva; Daughter Brenda Claassen of Dallas TX; Sons, Mark (Cindy) Riley of Olathe, KS and Brad (Rhonda) Riley of Wichita, KS; 8 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren

 

Visitation will be held at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 5-9 p.m., family will greet friends from 6-8.  Funeral Service will be held at Newton Church of the Brethren, Friday, February 19, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Newton Church of the Brethren.
