Claude N. Wohlschlegel

Claude N. Wohlschlegel 87, died Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Asbury Park in Newton, Kansas he was born November 30, 1926 in Wichita, Kansas to George and Mary (Esslinger) Wohlschlegel. He served his country in the U.S. Army. On March 12, 1950 he married Beverly Shultz and she preceded him in death. On October 16, 2004 he married Donna McNelly and she survives of the home.  Claude was a retired plumber. He attended with his wife Donna First Church of Christ in McPherson, Kansas.  He enjoyed bowling and earlier in life he enjoyed bird hunting.  Claude was always tinkering and fixing things around the house. He was a friendly and outgoing guy who never met a stranger.  Claude greatly enjoyed spending time with his loving family and many friends.

Claude is survived by his Wife Donna D. (McNelly) Wohlschlegel of McPherson, Kansas; daughters Sherry Shinkle and her husband William of Andover, Kansas, Cindy Rambo and Janet Fulmer and her husband Barry both of Newton, Kansas; brothers Thomas and his wife Loretta Wohlschlegel of Goddard, Kansas and Elton and his wife Cheryl Wohlschlegel of  Oklahoma; sister Georgiann Fromm of Wichita, KS; He is also survived by his wife Donna’s children: Nelda Slider of Kingman, Kansas, Dala and her husband skip Tesar of Atkinson, Nebraska and Darrel and his wife Theresa McNelly of Kingman, Kansas. He also has 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his first wife Beverly and his parents

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Church of Christ in McPherson, Kansas.  Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday evening at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home.  A graveside committal service will be 2:00 p.m. at Restlawn Gardens of Memory in rural Newton.
