Crecensio Franco - Rojas

Crecensio (Chencho) Franco-Rojas, passed away August 18, 2023.  Crecensio was born on June 15, 1949 in Nombre de Dios, Durango, Mexico to Ascension and Teresa Franco. Crecensio grew up without his birth parents but worked hard to provide for himself by coming to Kansas to work at Ferroloy Refinery in the 70’s. He then moved on to work for Excel Industries in Hesston KS in 1977 where he took pride in his work as a metal finisher and was employed there until his passing.

Crecensio enjoyed the outdoors, western movies and spending time with his kids and grandkids who he adored. He had two children with Hope Leal (Ascension and Teresa) and two (step-daughters) Renee and Mary.  His grandchildren include Santiago, Ariana, Bella, Emayah, Alexa, Solomon, Crecensio, Leah and Lexi. Great grandchildren Agustin and Victoria.

Crecensio had a big heart, sly sense of humor and a belief that if you are able to help someone you should. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work that has enabled his children and family to have better lives.

Services will be held at Petersen’s Funeral Home in Newton, KS August 28 at 10am. There will also be a viewing in the same location on August 27 from 4-6pm. Graveside service will follow the funeral and will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
