Dale Hawkey

Dale Hawkey 81, died Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Asbury Park in Newton, Kansas.  He was born April 10, 1935 in Newton, Kansas to Willard and Mary (Magnison) Hawkey.  He married Judy Goetschius on May 13, 1956 at Newton, Kansas and she survives of the home.  Dale was retired as a purchasing agent for Full Vision in Newton where he retired after 25 years of service.  He enjoyed spending time on the golf course and yard work. Dale enjoyed carpentry and built his family’s home in Newton. One of Dale’s greatest joys was his family and he looked forward to spending time with his loving family and many friends.

 

Dale is survived by his wife Judy of Newton, KS; daughter: Kathy and her husband Steve Garriott of Wichita, KS; Brother and sister in law Gene and Doris Hawkey of Newton, KS; Grandsons: Jeff Garriott and his wife Amanda of Andover, KS; Mark Garriott and his wife Jessica of Bel Aire, KS and Scott Garriott of Wichita, KS. He is also survived by his great grandson Jonas and 2 nieces and 1 nephew.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister in law Delbert and Darlene Hawkey and their son Dale’s nephew Steve Hawkey.

 

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with The Reverend Donna Voteau presiding. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, November 21st with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 at Petersen Funeral Home.  Private family burial will be at a later date.

 

Memorials are suggested to Better Breathers Class at Newton Medical Center or Kansas Rheumatology Alliance in care of Petersen Funeral Home.

    So sorry to hear about your father/ father-in law/ grandfather. I know it is hard when you lose someone dear to you. We will be praying for you all. Hopefully, knowing that no one can ever take away the precious memories you have of him will help you through this time. And having the Lord to carry you through will lift you up.
