Daniel Albert Nash, 93, died on August 2, 2013 at the Kansas Christian Home in Newton. Daniel was born on February 17, 1920 to Warren and Ellen “Iris” (Lafayette) Nash in Coats, Kansas.
Daniel graduated from high school from St. John, Kansas and later served in the Pacific Theatre for the U.S. Army during WWII.
He married M. Elizabeth Dickinson, on October 26, 1952 in Wichita, Kansas. They were married for 60 years.
Daniel was a retired personal salesman of investments and life insurance for I.D.S. which is now known as Ameriprise. He enjoyed fishing, telling stories, and was kind and caring to all.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; son, Jon Nash; daughters: Beth Ellen Jayapalan[D1] and spouse, Jay, Dana C. Nash, Marsha Fields and spouse, Tim, and Terri J. Knight and spouse, Edwin “Chip”; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Iris Nash; and four brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 7th, at the First Christian Church of Newton. An additional memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 9th at the First Christian Disciples of Christ Church in Garden City, Kansas.
A memorial has been set up for the following: First Christian Church of Newton, First Christian Church of Garden City, Kansas and KH: Legacy of John.
Rest Daniel, until you hear at dawn, the low, clear reveille of God.
