Darlene Kay Bontrager

Darlene K. Bontrager 77, died February 24, 2023 at Kidron Bethel Healthcare in North Newton, Kansas. She was born June 9, 1945 in Garden City, Kansas to Edwin and Maureen (Snyder) Allen.  On August 8, 1964 she married Barry D. Bontrager at Shallow Water Mennonite Church and he survives of the home.

Darlene was a member of the Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church in Harper, Kansas.

She is survived by her husband Barry of the home; one son Greg (Melody) Bontrager; two daughters Lori (Craig) Gingerich and Amy (Jon) Ewert; two brothers Dennis and Mike Allen; two sisters Patti Quakenbush and Jana Miller. Darlene is also survived by seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday February 28, 2023 at Kidron-Bethel Chapel in North Newton, Kansas with Pastor Terry Shue presiding. A private family interment will be at a later date in the Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church Cemetery in Harper County, Kansas.

Memorials may be made to Mennonite Central Committee and left with Petersen Funeral Home.
