Dean E. Hershberger

Dean E. Hershberger 55, died Thursday November 7, 2014 during his honeymoon trip to Arizona with his new bride.  He was born April 19, 1959 in Newton, Kansas to Vilas and Helen (Janzen) Hershberger.  On November 1, 2014 he married Lisa Clark at Central Community Church in Wichita and she survives of the home.  Dean attended Central Community Church in Wichita and was looking forward to singing in the church choir for their Christmas special.  Dean also attended Hesston Mennonite Brethren Church and Kingdom Life Ministries in Hesston.  He was a truck driver for Wal-Mart. Dean was devoted to the Lord and enjoyed sharing Jesus’ message with fellow truck drivers and others. He enjoyed fishing, golf and being outside. He especially enjoyed spending time on his motorcycle.  He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed attending games.   Dean’s greatest joy was his family and new wife. He greatly enjoyed encouraging his children and family.  He was known for his even temperament and was a joy to be around.

Dean is survived by his wife Lisa Hershberger of Wichita, KS; sons: Austin Hershberger of Lawrence, KS and Travis Hershberger of Hutchinson, KS; daughter Amanda Hershberger of Kansas City, KS, Jessica Hershberger of Wichita, KS and Jayme Clark of Wichita, KS; Brothers Dennis Hershberger of Yoder, KS and Dwight Hershberger of Franklin, TN; sisters Jane Litwiller of Newton, KS and Joan Wiggers of Colorado Springs, CO.

He is preceded in death by his parents

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Hesston Mennonite Brethren Church with Pastor Brad Burkholder presiding.  Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday Evening at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Eastlawn Cemetery, Zimmerdale, Kansas.
