Dennis L. Botterweck, 73, passed away on October 30, 2024, at Kidron Bethel Healthcare in North Newton, KS. Born on April 18, 1951, in Newton, Kansas, to Harold and Phylliss (Sheffler) Botterweck, Dennis lived a life full of love and dedication. On June 2, 1973, he married Janet Koehn, in Newton, KS. 

Dennis dedicated many years of service to the City of Newton water department before retiring, he then worked for Health Ministries Clinic before fully retiring. He is survived by his wife Janet; his sons Derek (Tionna) Botterweck and Jarrod (Krystyna) Botterweck; his brother Terry (Mandy) Botterweck; and his 10 beloved grandchildren; Skylar (Blake), Braiden (Libby), Kenzi, Taije, Hadyn, Macee, Jordyn, and Lainee. He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Dennis regarded himself as a modern-day cowboy and could often be found either at the shooting range or watching his favorite western films. He was passionate about instructing his grandchildren in gun safety and dedicated many hours to reloading ammunition. 

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. during this time. A family celebration of life will take place at a later date.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Health Ministries Clinic or to the family (Janet Botterweck) to help pay for services to be left in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
