Donald J Lanzrath

Donald J. Lanzrath 76, died Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Winfield, Kansas. He was born March 21, 1947 in Wichita, Kansas to Duane and Rose Marie “Rosie” (Faber) Lanzrath. On May 14, 1974, he married Sandra L. “Sandie” Janzen at Whitewater, Kansas and she survives of the home.

Donald was a retired Fire Captain in the Wichita Fire Department. He served his county in the United States Airforce where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Donald was a longtime active member of the Grace Hill Mennonite Church in Rural Whitewater, Kansas.

He is survived by his wife Sandie of the home; 3 sons: Darrel (Tiffany) Lanzrath; Russell (Katrina) Lanzrath and Andrew (Abby) Lanzrath; 3 sisters: Beverly Klag; Mary Lou Beskett and Virginia Zackula. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Hadynn, Gabe, Whitney and Laura

Donald is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers Kenneth and Charles

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Grace Hill Mennonite Church in Rural Whitewater with Pastor Weldon Martens presiding. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, November 27^th at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial with Air Force Honors will be in the Grace Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Grace Hill Mennonite Church or Newton Area Senior Center and left in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
