Dung Nguyen 66, died Friday, October 20, 2017 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.  She was born February 19, 1951 in Long An, Vietnam to Chanh Dang Nguyen and Thi Anh Nguyen.  Her mother survives Dung and is living in Vietnam. On July 29, 1973 she married Minh Ngoc Tran at Long An Vietnam. He preceded her in death on August 17, 2007. Dung is a graduate of the University Health Sciences in Vietnam.  She served as Chief of Nursing at two hospitals in Vietnam. She was very proud of her nursing degree. She moved to the United States with her family in 1988.  She worked at Newton Medical Center as a CNA and Telementary specialist for nearly 30 years. She made many friends as Newton Medical Center both patients and staff.  Dung’s greatest joy was her family.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and greatly looked forward to spending time with her daughters and their families.

 

Dung is survived by her daughters: Julie (Joseph) Nguyen of Andover, KS; Hai (Sean) Kulaboud of Folsom, CA; grandchildren: Alexander and  Scarlett of Andover, KS and  Colston, Daelan, Ellevian, and Floren of Folsom, CA; siblings: Thayen Thi Nguyen and Lung Thi Nguyen both of Texas; Thuan Chanh Nguyen and Ich Thi Nguyen both of Wichita, KS; and Tinh Chanh Nguyen of Vietnam.

 

She is preceded in death by her father, husband, and siblings Tri Chanh Nguyen and Day Van Nguyen.

 

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 23, 2017 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Donna Voteau presiding. The casket will be open from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.

 

Memorials are suggested in Lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society in care of Petersen Funeral Home
