Dwight A. Funk

Dwight A. Funk 72, died November 5, 2021 at NMC Health.  He was born November 2, 1949 in Goessel, Kansas to Arlie and Aldine (Pankratz) Funk. On January 17, 1986 he married Sharon Morrison at Newton, Kansas and she survives of the home.

Dwight attended Orchard Park Community Church in Park City, Kansas.  He had a deep faith and love of his Lord and Savior and was a servant to others.  He had patience beyond words and was a positive role model as a husband, father, and grandfather.

He enjoyed Southern gospel music and playing games with his family.  Trips were enjoyable times with his family. He could often be found caring for and keeping up the lawn and family home.  One of Dwight’s greatest joys was being the “daycare” for his granddaughter Abigail.  Family was central to Dwight’s life and happiness, he was a loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather.

Fall was his favorite time of the year and he enjoyed the changing of the colors with the season.

He is survived by his wife Sharon of the home; son Jason (Christen) Funk and their daughter Abigail of Park City.

Private family graveside service will be in the Kechi Township Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Orchard Community Church (memo line to Missions) and may be left with Petersen Funeral Home.
