Edna “Eddie” Mae Ehlers 84, died Monday August 6, 2012 at Sedgwick Healthcare Center, Kansas. She was born October 26, 1927 in Newton, Kansas to Lloyd P. and Daisy L. (Hahn) Nebergall. Eddie was a graduate of Newton High School. On April 13, 1958 she married Roland V. Ehlers in Newton, Kansas. Edna Mae was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Newton where she was active in the church choir and many committees. She was a 50 year member of the Sweet Adelines singing group. In addition to enjoying singing and music Edna Mae enjoyed traveling especially to Hawaii, feeding and watching birds, and spending time with her loving family and many friends.

She is survived by her son Earl and his wife Tammy Ehlers of Lahoma, Oklahoma; daughter Gloye and her husband Jeff Gloudeman of Wichita, Kansas; sister Marguerite and her husband Jerry Theobald of Bushnell, Illinois; special friends Dick and Sarah Vogt and Kathy Andres; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers Willard (Butch) Nebergall and infant brother Earl Boyd Nebergall.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday August 10, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in Newton, Kansas with The Reverend Dr. Doug Tofteland presiding. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery Newton, Kansas.
