Edwin D. Jantz Jr.  58, died February 24, 2015 at his home in Ponca City, Oklahoma. He was born May 12, 1956 in Newton, Kansas to Edwin D. Sr. and Betty (Dyck) Jantz.  Growing up he was a member of First Church of God in Newton where he played piano for services.  He was a 1974 graduate of Berean Academy in Elbing.  Edwin worked at the Kaw Smoke Shop II in Ponca City, Oklahoma where he made many friends and acquaintances. He greatly enjoyed collecting antiques of all kinds including glassware and furniture. He could be found at auctions on the weekends looking for his next treasure.

 

Edwin is survived by his mother Betty Jantz of Newton, Kansas; brother Mike and his wife Becky Jantz of Newton, Kansas; special friends Rita Rackley of Montana, Brenda Israel of North Carolina, Tonya Robinson of Montana and Monica Walruch of Kansas.

 

He is preceded in death by his father, grandparents, numerous uncles and cousins and special friend LeRoy Rackley.

 

A celebration of Edwin’s life will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Mitzel presiding.  Burial will be in the Restlawn Gardens of Memory rural Newton, Kansas.

 

Memorials are suggested to Caring Hands Humane Society or Kansas Food Bank in care of Petersen Funeral Home
