Ernest Eldon Beye, 75, died Saturday, July 30, 2016 at his home near Towanda, Kansas.
Eldon was born August 11, 1940 to Zerita Marie (Stice) and Elmer Ernest Beye at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. The oldest of 10 children, he had 5 brothers and 4 sisters. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Anna Lyvone, his mother and father, 2 brothers, Glenn Beye and David Beye and 1 sister, Marie Dill, 1 son, Eugene Beye and 1 grandson, Nicholas Whiteside.
Eldon is survived by 4 children, Loraine Whiteside of Towanda, Kansas, Eric Beye of Inman, Kansas, Ed Beye of Wichita, Kansas and Lynette Vance of Wichita, Kansas, 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Clyde Beye, Melvin Beye, Arthur Beye and Mildred Toliver, all of Cherryvale, Kansas, Virginia Stough of Mulvane, Kansas and Melba Yost of El Dorado, Kansas. He also has numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Eldon lived most of his life in the Kansas area, and loved spending time with family. He was a truck driver by profession, and spent many hours on the road. He drove over 5 million miles in his lifetime. He was a member of Newton Bible Church and loved going to Sunday School.
In 2013, Eldon moved to Towanda to live with his daughter and son-in-law. He enjoyed mowing and watching the wildlife on the farm.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Newton Bible Church in Newton, Kansas with Pastor Matt Kruse presiding. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. at Dunlap Cemetery in Rural Rose Hill, Kansas. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to Newton Bible Church Missions or Wyatt The Warrior Scleroderma Fund both in care of Petersen Funeral Home.

He was always the uncle that would come visit and tell the best family stories. Always caring for all of us, always happy to see us. He will be greatly missed.
