Esther Allene Bahr, 85, was welcomed peacefully into the arms of her

Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 26, 2021. She was a wonderful

wife, mom, grandmother and great grandmother. Esther will be

remembered for her sweet smile and kind heart that she shared with

everyone she met.

She was born on April 10, 1936 in White, Nebraska. She graduated from

Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska and then taught school in

South Dakota. She married Calvin H. Bahr on August 18th, 1957 and was

married for 45 years before he passed away in January 2002.

Esther was employed by Richard’s Cold Storage, Hoffman Greenhouse

and Moore Flowers. She served her community well as a leader of the

Sunnydale 4-H Club, a Sunday School Teacher at Zion Lutheran Church

and an avid supporter of her children as they attended the Valley

Center School system.

Esther is survived by her 5 children, Deborah (Emmett) Johnson of

Kechi, Cindy (Gary) Miller of Wichita, Bill (Jody) Bahr of Mims, Florida,

Ruth Bahr of Wichita, and Calvin (JanelI) Bahr of Valley Center; 9

grandchildren, Tiffany (Justin) Strickland of Lawrence, Audrie (Josh)

Primm of Wichita, Rachel (Matt) Baker of Titusville, Fonda, Kylee

(Jonathan) Montalvo of Valley Center, Whitney Bahr of Brooklyn, New

York, Matt (Emilie) Bahr of Gainesville, Florida, Kelby (Sofia) Bahr of

Park City, Anna Bahr of Mims, Florida, and Danielle (Brayden) Dore of

Wichita, and 12 great grandchildren, and many other family and

friends.

Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday with the family receiving

Friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Peterson Funeral Home in Newton, Kansas.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday December 31, 2021

at Zion Lutheran Church in Newton, Kansas. Private family Burial will

be in Sunnydale Park Cemetery near Valley Center.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Concordia University in

Seward, Nebraska or Good Shepherd Hospice in Wichita, Kansas
