Eunice G. Kinser

August 17, 2020

Eunice G. (McNichols) Kinser passed from this life on August 17, 2020 at the Presbyterian Manor in Newton, Kanas.  She was born on November 1, 1936 to Loren and Mabel McNichols near Burr Oak in Jewell County Kansas.  She attended Grade School and High School at Burr Oak.  She graduated from Friends Bible College (now Barclay College) in Haviland, Kansas, with a Junior College Degree and from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education.

Eunice was married to Merl Kinser on June 6, 1958 in Haviland, Kansas.  They had two children, Steven and Brenda.  Eunice’s husband, Merl, was a Friends Pastor and she served on many committees and was very active in the ministry to the churches.  Eunice loved children and taught in Public School, Preschool, Kindergarten, and Day Care for nearly 40 years.  After retirement she volunteered as a grandma at the New Creation Preschool in Newton, Kansas.

Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters, and all of her first cousins.  She is survived by her husband, Merl, of North Newton, Kansas; son, Steven Kinser and wife, Aletha, of Moundridge, Kansas, and daughter, Brenda Mays and husband, Kelven, of North Newton, Kansas.  A private family burial will be held in the near future and a public memorial celebration service will be held at Northridge Friends Church in Wichita later this fall.  The family suggests memorials to Barclay College or Friends University.

  1. We have fond memories of the years when we first came to Enid. They we’re still here. Love ya Brenda and all

  2. I was sorry to hear of your family’s loss, especially under such disheartening circumstances. I know your faith will bring you through this and hope the family service will bring for you all a sense of solace and peace and that the disruptions of the moment will dissipate and allow a broader and more encompassing farewell in future.

  3. I praise the Lord for Eunice’s faithful life of devotion to the Lord and to Merl. They have always been a great blessing to me.
