Frances Schmidt

Frances Schmidt, 87, passed away August 24, 2022.  She is now reveling in the glory of heaven and in the presence of Jesus and the angels, and reuniting with her loved ones who have gone before her.  Those loved ones include her husband Marvin; her mom and dad Louise and Frank Schlup; brothers Ken and Keith (Red) Schlup; and sister Kathleen Powell.  She is survived by her daughter Peggy (Dan) Blevins of Valley Center and Larry (Tina) Schmidt of North Newton; sister Dorothy Williams; grandchildren Caroline (David) Fox of St Louis, Matt (Shea) Blevins of Wichita and Brandon (Samantha) Schmidt of Belton, MO; and six great grandsons.

Frances was an operator for Southwestern Bell for many years, then elected to be a full time mom when her children were born.  After devoting her energies to raising her children, she returned to work for AT&T as a directory assistance operator, commuting to Wichita, until she retired in 1991.

She loved cats, and Hazel was her constant companion throughout her last years.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 29^th at 10:00 am.  Memorials are suggested to Caring Hands Humane Society.
