Francis L. “Frank” Taylor passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Kansas Christian Home in Newton, KS.
Frank was born October 27, 1931, to Francis Marion Taylor and Rebecca May (Christopher) Taylor, in Tekamah, NE. He attended the Tekamah schools with a lot of his cousins and graduated from Tekamah High School. He then moved to Omaha, working as a parking lot attendant. He accepted Jesus as his Savior and Lord at a tent survival meeting led by Billy Friday.
On September 4, 1953, Frank was united in marriage to Bonnie Sue Hutchinson of Louisville, NE. They had two children, Douglas Lee and Karen Jenae. Doug was born in Omaha in 1954. In 1956 the little family moved from Omaha to McPherson, KS, where Frank worked for Pyle Construction. Karen was born in McPherson in 1957.
Frank worked for Pyle Construction as an electrician and H/VAC specialist from 1956 until retiring in 1993. Having too much energy to stay home, he worked for Peoples Bank and Trust in McPherson in Maintenance for several years.
Frank and family attended the McPherson Free Methodist from 1956 to 2016 when they moved to Newton, Kansas. There they attended the Golden Plains Free Methodist Church.
Frank is survived by his wife of 69 years, Bonnie; son Douglas and wife Robin of Hillsboro, KS; daughter Karen and husband Ernie of Newton, KS; sister Ova Mae of Maplesville, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Marian Anderson.
