Gary L. Davis 84 died December 28, 2024, at NMC Health. He was born September 7, 1940, in Wichita, Kansas to William Sr. and Lucile (Gambel) Davis.

Gary was a retired manufacturing machinist where he worked at Cessna and Bunting Magnetics. In his retirement years he worked as a crossing guard at Sunset School in Newton.

Growing up Gary was active in the Hesston Union 4-H Club where he earned various awards from 1950 to 1960. His projects included various livestock, cooking and leadership. 

He went to Hesston Elementary School and was a graduate of Newton High School class of 1960. He served his country in the US Army from 1962- 1965.

He attended Newton First Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed gardening and being outdoors working on his farm.

Gary is survived by his daughter Kelly Diane; sister: Roxie Warren, Pat Swan, Sharon Summer and Cheryl Davis; Brothers: Don (Wanda) Barton, Jim (Lydia) Davis, Bob (Betty) Davis, David Davis, Virgil (Valerie) Davis and Alan Davis. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews he cared for greatly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Larry Barton, Steve Pilcher, Willam Davis Jr., and John Davis.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain John Hull presiding. Burial will be in the Summit Cemetery Rural Marion County, Kansas. The family receive friends from 9:00 a.m. service time Saturday Morning. 

Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice or First Church of the Nazarene and left with Petersen Funeral Home.
